This thick Imperial Stout has been matured in Carmenere, Chilean red wine, barrels, and late dry hopped with Melba. The first beer in South America to use Melba hops, Adam from Edge Brewing in Australia, emptied his luggage for the trip and made the polar route with his suitcase filled to the brim of Hops!

A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a short light tan head that died down a bit, leaving large wisps of lacing on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of anise, dark malts and red wine are present in the nose—the red wine becomes stronger as the beer warms up.
T: The taste of this beer follows the smell, having flavors of dark malts and red wine along with hints of anise. Bits of roasted malts linger into the finish. There is a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium- to full-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer does a good job at balancing the flavors from the stout and red wine. It also masks the alcohol very well.
