The 2017 edition is brewed with dried figs, raisins, star ainse and fermented with an expressive Belgian yeast strain. Notes of dried dark fruit, rum-soaked raisins, and Christmas cake spices. Deceptively easy-drinking!

Bottle: Poured a deep amber color ale with a large off-white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of caramelized malt notes with some light Cognac notes and subtle residuals sugar notes is enticing. Taste is also a mix of caramelized malt notes with light dry fruits notes with some Cognac notes to round-off any rough edges with the right amount of residual sugar. Body is about average with good carbonation and no real apparent alcohol notes. Definitely a huge improvement over the base beers and something that should be available more often.
