On-tap at the NBBC,

A: Pours brown, a shade or 2 lighter than the Imperial Dead Cowboy, full white head, with some lacing.

S: Whiskey, dark malt, coffee.

T: Rough whiskey at first, tasted a bit like a raw version of Firestone 11, but it seriously mellows and makes a damn tasty stout. Roasted malts, bourbon, tasty stuff.

M: Rich and viscous, good carbonation for the stlye, very smooth, full-bodied.

D: A great beer from the NBBC, the 2 stouts I've had from them today are truly top notch, this beer is the equal of the great Bourbon County Stout, it's that good.

Sampled yesterday with my girlfriend, an imperial stout that is aged in bourbon barrels for nine months, would have got a growler of this if they would have left me, snifters were six dollars

A-Black color with some shades of brown but very dark, small 1/4 inch creamy tan head that settled rather quickly, only a little lacing at the beginning

S-Good amount of bourbon, vanilla, oak, dark chocolate, roasted malt, spices, faint coffee scent, not much hoppiness, and some dark fruit

T-Big bourbon flavor right from the start, then fades into some chocolate malt, and ends with a spicy taste filled with oak and vanilla, gets sweeter as it warms and the dark cocoa taste really shows, not as much booze as I expected in the flavor although the whiskey is definitely there, cream in the finish as well as a tad bit of coffee causing some dryness, would like to try the regular version of this some time and compare the two, not a bad imperail stout overall

M-Creamy and spicy mouthfeel, also sweet at times when it warms, thin to medium body, strong level of carbonation, taste lasted a few minutes

D-Could have had a snifter or two of these but the alcohol would have caught up to me because I had not eaten, smooth, bourbon is not hidden very well

One of the better beers tried today, was told this will not be offered again anytime soon, hope to get down there again soon and have another glass before it is gone, recommended to anybody in the area
