Here's a beer to catch the attention of geeks. This is a two thread beer, a blend of two barrel aged beers, a quadrupel and an imperial stout. Here we go. On to the beer:
The appearance of this beer is cola black. A short head forms on top and then drops to a thin lace. Its powerful aroma assuresyou that this was barrel aged. There's a powerful bourbon and oak character and some sweet cherry. Satisfying.
Equally as satisfying is the taste. At first touch there's coconut, then it dissapears in a split second to dominate bourbon notes. Cherry comes out and stands up to the bourbon. Hints of toasted vanilla add another dimension to this BAB. The alcohol remains hidden, only lightly appearing, and it begs to continually be sipped on.
Delightful. Just what I needed on a cool night while watching Monday Night Football with a friend at the brewpub.
