On-tap at Newport Beach Brewing Co.
A: Looks just like you would expect: amber in color with a small off-white head.
S: I was expecting the nose to be significantly hoppier than the regular, but it wasn't the case. Carmel and toffee on the nose with a hint of chocolate underneath. Citrus hops and a lot of floral notes to it.
T: Sweet toffee and caramel up front with the hops coming more toward the back end. Quite perfumey with a lot of floral notes and some solid citrus notes. A decent enough bitterness, but it could use more.
M: Medium in body with the carbonation being on the light end of medium.
O: I liked this a little more than the regular version, but each had ups and downs.
