Listless reddish auburn color, still life in pictures when it comes to the absolute lack of any head on this beer. Eeegad, the aroma is shamefully acetic diacetyl notes and not in small way.
The minimal sour aspect of the beer goes relatively deep on this one, but you still have plenty of off flavors that are still present and domineering the flavor profile. Any of the brown malts were swallowed from ever showing themselves. Some bad bacteria on this one.

Kind of a flat red and amber color, dead still pour, no head. Vinegar and diacetyl smell, and not in the acceptable way.
Mildly sour, can't pull a whole lot out of this that is a positive description, buttery, oxidized off flavors, vinegar (contributing about 90% of the sour flavor). Just kept getting worse. Hate to have to describe it this way, but ultimately, I saw no redeeming qualities in this beer, and it was the worst thing I drank during Beachwood BBQ's sourfest this year.
Avoid.

Just kept getting worse. Hate to have to describe it this way, but ultimately, I saw no redeeming qualities in this beer, and it was the worst thing I drank during Beachwood BBQ's sourfest this year.

Although I could have asked for a taste of it at Beachwood's bi-annual SourFest, I thought that I could simply head over to the brewpub itself and find it. I got lucky; I ordered the last glass at the brewpub before the keg blew. Described as a sour red ale at the brewpub and served in a short 10 ounce goblet, on to the beer:
Lovely crimson color with a short collar of foam on top, which lightly clings around the glass. The nose is moderately sour and fruity, not crazy aromic but rid of off-flavors.
Pleasable tart cherry is the theme of this fun ale. A few random critters give this beer a subtle character that seems to break the tart fruitiness of the beer. Nicely balanced overall, not too sour and not too sweet.
Brew Co's second sour that I tasted was much better than the first (Cuvée de Kirk). Who knows if there is more in production, but if there is, I would be down to drink again.

On-tap at Beachwood BBQ
A: The beer pours a flat murky amber color with no head to speak of.
S: Definitely has the vinegar that you expect from a Flemish sour. It also features some butter and acetone, unfortunately. A bit of oak, booze, and quite a bit of sweetness. Slightly tannic but also distinct flavor of maple syrup.
T: Oak and maple syrup are the two strongest flavors, at least initially. A fair bit of acetone and vinegar on the finish with the butter being noticeable as well. Some sweet caramel, toffee, and a mild chocolate note to finish it off.
M: Medium bodied with rather low carbonation.
O: Not sure why I ordered this, it was pretty much as I expected: not very good.

On-tap at Beachwood I,

S: Nice fruit character with some light vinegar.
T: Quite fruity overall with a lot of blueberry, some lemon/citrus. Light cola notes. A tough taste to put into word really, but it's delicious.
M: Carbonation is minimal, but the acid keeps it lively. Easy on the palate but has it were it counts.
O: This was easily my favourite of my day at Beachwood aside from Iris which I've already reviewed. Nice that a true local sour is this tasty.
