-5.8% Irish Breakfast stout B.A. with Harvest coffee.
A: Dark roasty pour is oily and black with a quickly diminishing head. No visible signs of carbonation.
S: The aroma had a good level of strength with a burst of freshly grounded coffee beans that was oily and roasty in nature. Deep chocolate, earthy bitterness, light dry creamer.
T: The flavor was milky deep rich chocolate roast, with hints of dry creamer and roasted bitterness. Dry, earthy with a charred woodiness with a light chalky leave. Rich chocolate coffee with a light smokiness. Very strong flavor for a irish style dry stout.
M: The mouthful was silky smooth, slippery and oily from the roast and void of any carbonation texture.
O: Overall the chocolate malt and roasted coffee are the highlights here with the bourbon barrel aging an added bonus. Deep rich chocolate roasty flavor, very silky smooth with a dry finish that drinks much bigger then its 5.8%. Very suprised, usually not a big fan of Irish stouts, but this brought on all the flavor and substance I would expect from a big B.A. stout. outstanding per style.
