Usually strong, DN fails here. Found jetro to be missing all the things that make ipas good. (juiciness/hopiness) This one had no pop, bland & neutral...sad

16 os can poured into pint glass, 8/9/19, a murky pale gold with orange highlights. Smell is citrus, orange, and blueberries? Taste is similar, with some vegetal and herbal notes. Mouthfeel is smooth (lactose) , medium low carbonation. Overall, a pretty solid NE IPA.

Can to planet glass. 4th of 4Pack.
LOOK: yellow color, lightly cloudy, steady white head. Good retention. Legs.
AROMA: citrus, hay, grass.
TASTE: soapy, citrus rind, baking soda
FEEL: thin body, decent carbonation, but not lively.
OK periferals, but nothing stands out and sub-par taste drags this down.
Ring the Bell!

Double Nickel Brewing Co. "Jetro"
16 fl. oz. can, coded "03/18/1911:46:52" and sampled on 04/27/19
$4.49 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ
Notes via stream of consciousness: Hey, who got the can with the green label? Mine is red! Seriously, I like the way that Double Nickel has been going with their packaging designs. OK, on to the beer, it's poured a very hazy golden body with an orange sheen at the widest point on the glass, and the head is a tall cap of densely creamy, rocky foam. The head doesn't seem to want to drop at all, and I'll have to wait to take my first sip, but I can already smell it. It's fruity with pineapple, citrus, and peach... maybe some passionfruit and guava. On to the flavor, all of the notes found in the aroma carry over along with a golden, grainy maltiness and some spiciness, soft but raspy pine, and a bit of tangerine/apricot that comes out in the end. It doesn't seem that bitter but there is some hop burn to it, and a very slight acidity that helps to balance it as well. It's hard to tell how bitter it actually is as the bitterness is definitely there in the finish but you don't get it while the sweet malt is still there in your mouth. Nicely done! So the head has settled by now, and I've drank about 4 ounces, maybe more, and there's some fantastic lacing left behind covering most of the glass. In the mouth it's medium-bodied, or maybe even medium-light but seemingly fuller. It's smooth but seemingly a little chalky. The carbonation gives it an effervescent, fine-bubbled crispness. I'm liking this but there is something odd about it. Ahhh, there it is, right on the label, "CONTAINS LACTOSE". Yeah, lactose beers and I don't seem to get along real well, it seems that I'm pretty sensitive to it and it sticks in my mouth. Still, I like this and I'm not having any problem progressing through the pint but I have to wonder if it would be even better without the lactose? I don't think it's giving it that great of a mouthfeel, and it doesn't really add that much sweetness (which you can just do with malt and your mash temperature anyway), but OK.

Hazy and orange hued NEIPA with minimal head. Getting some mango and peach on the nose and definitely tasting mango, peach, and some tropical fruits from the Galaxy hops. A solid NEIPA from a local brewery that seems to be getting better and better.

-on draft @ location.
A: A beautiful deep lactose induced hazy orange juice is both dark and mouth watering. A comfortable 1/2 inch frothy white head sits atop with a moderate rate of stay and average lace deposits. Served in a chalice.
S: The nose burst with fresh mentions of mangoes, and wet tropical scents of pineapple and oranges. Really fresh and clean delivery. Hints of fresh wet peaches and passionfruit round out and checks all the boxes for an N.E. IPA style.
T: Beautiful flowery hops are soft and lightly dry, dank tropical flavors and a good sense of hoppiness. Dry peach and citrusy-grassy hops add to the finish. Semi-dry tropical notes.
M: Creamy soft mouthful, lactose soft, and a low amount of carbonation for a relaxed tropical juice feel. Very smooth.
O: Overall a great wet nose and deep lactose induced haziness draws you in to a strong flavor of bittering tropical and citra-grassy hops(believe i saw this labeled as a no ibu). Leaves the tongue with a bittering dryness and begging for more.
