Well, that french oak is there in spades. Yeah... I love heavily oaked beers, I still think about terrapin big hoppy monster oaked, but this was putrid. French oak in liquid form with teriyaki, pickles, booze, ashtray, and dirt. Allegedly has vanilla and chocolate? Not getting either in smell or taste. Smell is just the wood, booze, and smoke. Feel was woody, somewhat sour, and hot too. But hey, it looked great with the midnight black body and tan cap.

Released 8/10/19; drank 9/26/19 @ the Yarchives.
Black appearance.
A rough pour yielded a small tan head; frothy lace.
Oak, cream & milk chocolate notes in the nose.
Creamy medium thick mouthfeel.
Dill pickle, cream & milk chocolate flavors.
The oak dominates this and adds a dill pickle note that wasn't well integrated; it's drinkable, but I won't seek this out again.
