12 fl. oz. can coded "06/02/22-13:16:27" and sampled on 09/21/22
$2.79 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ
Notes via stream of consciousness: This is fruited with strawberry, pineapple, lime, and coconut. It's a murky golden beneath a short head of white foam that fades rather quickly. Of course, as a sour beer that's to be expected. The smell isn't that great. I get a little bit of everything but they don't seem to work well together. Odd. Maybe it's the mineralish character that it has that's throwing it off. I missed this initially but there are tiny bits of yeast floating on the surface. On to the taste... wow, that's sour. The first note that I found in the aroma was the coconut and that's the same case here. I get the coconut followed by the pineapple, the lime, and finally the strawberry which is very mild. The lime lingers in the aftertaste for me, and there's really not that much there. Overall there's not a lot there apart from the acidity but it is a smaller beer at just 4.8% ABV. In the mouth it's light-medium in body but that's at least partially due to the extra proteins and yeast. A soft carbonation works well with the acidity. I think it makes a great summer beer.
