quality pils here, my first ever beer from crucible, on tap at saranac public house in spokane, a lovely lunch pint, yellow and light looking, but not too cleaned up either, not fully clear, frothy white headed, bubbly like a soda. the nose is a little sweet at first, even kind of corn-like to me, but then i get some european malt character, crackery, bready, crisp, and the old world lager yeast, which is light but present nevertheless, and some noble hops, all the elements are here, and this seems both fresh and cohesive. the flavor is light at first, a touch sweet up front, again sort of a corn flakes thing in with the pils malt, lots of minerals, floral rather than spicy hops in this one, a green tea note there almost, and bitter enough to help this finish crisp. its tasty and its also distinct while being quite classic. the carbonation is unique too, not overly effervescent but the bubbles are huge, makes this really pop, and seem somewhat lighter than it is. best when ice cold, it warmed up fine but lost a little refreshment value. looking forward to trying more from these guys now...
