First in the 2025 Limited Release lineup. Excursion has in your face hop flavors of bright pine and fresh cut cedar, alongside some orange and lemon peel.
Crafted with Chinook, Simicoe, Amarillo, and Citra hops, this West Coast IPA finished moderately bitter, with a little sweetness for balance.

Best By 081126. Poured at 48 degrees.
Look: Clear gold with a high white head that has excellent retention and leaves medium lacing.
Smell: A decent hoppiness is present.
Taste: Just tolerable. Like a cedar shingled roof with a weird artificial burnt orange sweetness.
Feel: Low in the mouth with low-medium carbonation.
Overall: A great looking brew just like its Variety Pack siblings, but that’s about all it has going for it. Too bad Alaskan couldn’t whip one more really strong IPA to throw in this VP. I’d skip over “Excursion” if I had a do-over.

Bought locally, best by August 11th 2026.
Pours a lightly hazy gold with over a finger of foam, good retention and lacing.
The smell is piney hops, citrus, some malt that is on the sweet side.
Taste is pine, grapefruit citrus to a lesser degree, grain and some caramel malt, the latter of which I could have done without.
Medium bodied lively carbonation, this is good but not something I would seek out.

Clear yellowish pour, decent head and lacing. Pine and citrus aromas and flavors. A passable WCIPA.

I got three cans of this beer from a mixed adventure 12pck that i bought from my local meijer store. It poured a golden color with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had mild citrus fruit notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bright semi sweet malt base with subtle sweet citrus presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Clear amber color with a substantial and persistent head. Aroma gives a scent of sweet citrus florals and nice pine. Taste actually has some noticeable malt in addition to solid hop presence. Good bitterness but not overwhelming. Dry finish. This one is more along the lines of a well-crafted early 2000s IPA.

Aroma is fruit, piney hops and slightly effervescent yeast. The flavor is fruit/citrus, malts/grains, slightly effervescent/almost Belgian yeast and a nutty/earthy hop finish.

Clear gold pour, healthy finger plus of just off white head. Nose shows wood and citrus.
Taste shares pine needles, resiny cedar, citrus notes, lightly kilned malt, candied citrus peel. Finish shows a nice balance, with the cedar notes getting a little sweeter. Medium to light mouthfeel.
I liked thus quite a bit, balanced.
