Pours a lovely amber with a thin mustache of foam in the Affligem chalice. More than a whiff of vinegar in the aroma. Actually that is the aroma, but something hoppy in the nose. Very thin body, extremely sharp. The acidity seems to grow as you sip. I can feel it in the pit of my stomach.
There is a cheerful grainy flavor in the midst of the tart attack. The oak flavor is quite distinct. Very tannic. Aftertaste is quite bitter and astringent. From the 750 ml caged and corked bottle purchased at Bine & Vine in San Diego for $18.
