Made with three pounds per gallon of Crimson Heart Pluots, also from Murray Family Farms. Big fruit aroma with flavors that remind you of biting into the flesh of a very ripe plum. Pleasant acidity, hints of melon, and touch of funk on the back end.

The most obvious comparison that comes to mind is Compunction, which I see as the gold standard of pluot "sours." However, the wilder style of Eugene lends a bit more of a funky aspect.
L - pours a light orange-ish, somewhat hazy color. Head fizzles and reduces quickly.
S - the fruit takes precedence, as is no surprise. Not overpowering in the least though and the base beer still shines through
T - fruity, funky, sour combo that is well balanced and exactly what you want from the style. Lingers on the palate for several minutes afterward
F - hits ask the right notes, especially the back of the tongue. A "mouthwash" swirl elicits a wonderful kick in the mouth
O - right up there with the great pluot "sours." The only discernable difference that I can see (going off a large gap between tastings) is the body. Eugene is not as full-bodied, but that does hide some of the ABV. I'd love to do a side-by-side and update my review. If you find this beer do yourself a favor, don't pass it up.

Gifted from my wife. This brewery has some amazing IPAs so I am curious how this sour will be. Bottled in 2017, consumed on 12/29/20.
A&S: The beer hazy orange with a tint of pink in color and fairly lively with carbonation. Much deeper colors come out when the sediment is poured in at the end. Ring of the head along the sides leave lacing but doesn't cling. Aroma mainly consists of white grapes, tart cherries,
T&M: Really great taste. Stone fruits (mostly cherries and plums, but I suppose pluot too), tart sour, and super acidic tones. One of the few beers that got slightly worse when the sediment was poured in. Very crisp and sharp.
Overall: Usually a beer would catch my eye with the label art, if I would have picked out this beer it would be from the name. One of the best I have seen. I am impressed by the beer

A: Peach juice, half centimeter white head, pale yellow with light pink hue
S: Funk, huge stone fruit, oak, light tartness, mineral, pluot, apricot, sweet
T: Balanced sour, huge plum and apricot, earthy funk, oak, sweet stone fruit, mineral, hay
M: Light with soft carbonation
O: Along with Crooked Stave, this beer had restored my faith in American sours. Not a lactic bomb, funk is present, well integrated fruit. Wish i bought more

elite level wild beer, beachwood continues to impress in these styles for sure! its essentially lambic, and while i dont know how its exactly made, thats what it smells and tastes like as a base, pale and as funky as it is sour, with a turbid mash character and light hoppiness, heavy tannic oak, and plenty of the pluots, which are a cool fruit to try in something like this, highly successful. i get faint iodine and medicinal funk in the nose, a bacterial acidity and a heap of wood, very mature beer overall and it makes my mouth water. the flavor is exceptional, real developed yeast profile, funk a bit ahead of sour, but i love their culture, and have liked this profile in many of their wild beers, so funky and delicious, fruity and citrusy but then drying. the pluots taste more like plums than apricots to me here, but i get some strawberry and peach notes to this as well, a fruit salad sort of thing, but fermented down to mostly dry with just the essence of the fruit in the nose and a quick but intense pop of it in the flavor. wonderful base beer here, in need of no fruit at all, but i like what it adds and am keen to try some of the other variants of this. its of such a high quality, its hard to believe there are bottles sitting around all over town, but thats the case...
