beachwood has impressed me tremendously lately. their wild beers, at least a good handful of them, taste to me like very authentic lambic, and sure this one is brewed with rye, but the yeast and wood profile are of a classic belgian lambic, funky mature bretty wildness, tangy citrusy bacterial pucker, brisk oak tannins, and a fancy sort of sharpness, rustic and complex, its awesome, and it sells me immediately as soon as i get a whiff of it, you could fool me that this was some new drie fonteinen blend and i would believe it. hazy and straw colored with a nice head on it from the tap. aroma has a little of the rye spice, some bitter and piquant citrus from the kumquat that blends well with the sour elements in here, and a mature funkiness to it, really mouthwatering and old school and appetizing. the fruit is somewhat subtle in the flavor, i think no more flavorful than the wild elements themselves, lemon and orange notes to the bacterial side, awesome with the kumquats, and the bitterness they bring is welcomed here. wet hay, wet dog, wet wood, this has a really saturated earthiness about it, thanks in part to the rye, and in part to the yeasts, very compelling stuff. its effervescent and dry, funky and astringent, clean but lingering too. this is sure to please any fan of old world lambic, i cant believe how authentic this is. beachwood has stepped up an awful lot over the years, this is one of the best beers i have had from them. unforgettably delicious!

Look is hazy orange
Smell is funky crisp citrus
Taste is sour like kumquats but yet has that ripe aged kumquat taste.
Overall, amazing sour
