maybe not quite as epic as the zinfandel edition of this, but what an incredible beer, i just think beachwood has kind of come out of nowhere with these wild beers, and is truly at the top of their game. this one isnt so much classic lambic to me on the fermentation profile, but that is quite alright! instead, its funky and tannic without being very sour at all, i think leaving more space for the beer, and it drinks very much like a beer/wine hybrid, without a ton of character from the grain aside from the body, and the grapes really leading the flavor surge. its obviously malbec to me, which is cool suggests whole fruit and it suggests a very natural beer, its not just red wine grape, its specifically malbec, and i think thats amazing. some nice bretty funk here, relaxed acidity accompanying it, and a lot of tartness from the fruit, only sweet in the middle, and very woody and mature in the end, drying and with more carbonation that the appearance suggests. gorgeous color and body, sturdy feeling, like the wine itself there is lots of structure here, and its wonderfully complex and juicy and delicious. in just a bout a weeks time, these guys have become one of my favorite breweries, its been amazing having them here for gabf this week around denver!
