Funk Yeah is our Gueuze-inspired beer that is blended once each year using carefully selected barrels ranging from 1 to 3+ years old. We hold nothing back to make this blend each year using beer made with a house culture, spontaneous beer, and wort that was in the coolship and then pitched into to find the perfect blend of acidity and character.

Over an entire week, around 100 barrels and several puncheons were tasted through and narrowed down to less than 10. The final beer is a blend of barrels ranging from 15 to 43 months old and 27 months average age. These choice barrels and decisive blending created a beer that has amazing depth, complexity, and drinkability.

The aroma is deep with funky earthy tones and a slight salinity. On the first sip soft acidity carries the aroma forward with earthy aged hops, slight stone fruit character along with a sense of nuance and age.

Super murky bright yellow with a full white head that quickly settles into a cap. Aromas of big funk: barnyard, barrel for sure, possibly others with nectarine, hay, and faint flowers. Taste adds more developed horse blanket funk, and a touch of minerals on the finish with oak. Feel is wet and sour in a wild way underneath the strong, shape and dry funk. Fantastic!!

good heavens this is wonderful, im not even sure i knew there were fruited versions of it, just incredible quality, straight lambic to me, and without a doubt among the best expressions of pure nectarine i have ever known in a beer, like in both nose and taste here there is no mistaking it fruit peach or apricot or anything, its impeccably true to nectarine, just wow, and how cool to get to drink it on tap! not much head after a second on this, a lightly hazy and very pale straw color, fizzy enough, looks sort of unassuming for what it is. the aroma sort of fills the room, juicy ripe drippy real nectarine, tangy skin, sweet flesh, the peak of summer. behind it oak and white wine, funky brett, sour lactic citrus tang, and enough wheat and old grain character to keep it beery, obvious maturity. the flavor is impressive as well, the nectarine is all through this, mouthwatering, even as im drinking it, quite sour, which maybe slows down how much i can have, but its still sort of addicting, dry but with a sour candy appeal, huge wood and even vanilla which highlight the fruit, and the now famous (to me anyway) beachwood wild ferment, which is as brett as it is acidic, awesome blend here from three different vintages, perfect mix of old and young characteristics, especially to allow the fruit to pop without overtaking the wild base. i cant say enough about this one, it impressed me to an almost impossible degree, and i knew it would be good. need to find away to score the other fruited versions of this, every time i have a beer from beachwood i somehow manage to come out liking them even more on the other side. this is epic! up there with the best in the world, i swear.

2020 Vintage

Appearance: Clear light-yellow color with a fairly generous sized white head that quickly faded. A nice looking Wild Ale.

Smell: Fairly prominent barnyard funk and tart fruit aromas.

Taste: Tart nectarine notes feature up front in the flavor profile. I also pick up some moderate citrus notes and some mild hay notes. The beer has the slightest hint of very mild sweetness initially but finishes dry with some tart fruit notes and some mild tannic oak notes.

Mouth-feel: Fairly light-bodied with a medium level of carbonation. spot on here.

Overall: A tasty fruited Wild Ale. The beer has some solid tart fruit notes and while the fruit is present. It isn't sweet in the least. I enjoyed every beer I've had in the Funk Yeah series.
