Balanced sour but still substantial sour. Orange. Sour and funk first. Fruity dragonfruit and pineapple right there under the barrel.guest tap at north park.a sipper to the end.

real neat beer, always cool to get to drink their wild stuff, this one is spontaneously fermented and done with pineapple, dragon fruit, and lychee, funky, tropical, woody, and mature, delicious and exotic, more authentic on the fruit side than these fruits generally seem to me, and while i am somewhat dubious of these types of combinations in sour types, these guys have my absolute trust, and i knew this would be great. an unassuming rusty orange color to this with a patchy white head slow fading and a little haze. the nose is intoxicating though, super forward on the pineapple, way in front of the other fruits, almost grilled to me, sweet yet acidic, mouthwatering with the seriously lambic level funk and woodiness here, tart, bretty, wild, really unique, juicy with all the fruit, white wine and passion fruit tang, subtle coconut character, pina colada notes for sure, maybe a bit less from the dragon fruit, and some definite malt to this keeping it beery, wheaty and kind of raw, a needed element i reckon. the pineapple hits right away on the palate too, lightly stinging, sort of tenderizing my tongue and the roof of my mouth even independently of the sourness this has, grainy and sweet in the middle, a light cantaloupe and lemon layer, then more from the lychee and the oak later, vinous as it warms, again sort of medicinal and lambic-esque in its funky maturity, not overly acidic but piquant for sure, relatively dry at the end for how fruity it is, and some curious late bitterness is present too which i dont mind at all. really complex beer that warms up well, wonderful wild yeast fermentation profile, not so fruited that we lose that either, fine carbonation. beachwood always delivers with these wild ones, i look so forward to drinking them!
