Poured into a mug, the appearance was a ruddy burnt amber color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Speckled sticky lace. The aroma had sweet to roasty crisp nuts rolling over some caramel and toffee malts. Subtle earthiness. The flavor leaned to the sweet side through the previously mentioned aromas. Nice malty caramel aftertaste with the same sort of finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Mild carbonation. ABV feels good for what it is. Overall, this one was a good Irish red ale that I could have again.

L - pours a dark dark red. Blood red with the opacity to match. Kinda eerie actually. Faintly toasted head with more of that red creeping into the foamy color profile. Spooky.
S - brooding caramel and metal up front. Smells darker and stronger than 6.4%. Dark fruits a la plum and raisin. Sweet and sticky.
T - more of the same aroma, but brightens up in the back. I can feel the light poking through the ominous black clouds. The first two acts are sublime: balanced, great transitions between flavors. The third act lets up a bit though and the flavor thins out. Shaky malt backbone struggling to hold this beer together. Cardboard and skunky crackers on the finish. Unfortunate.
F - smooth and creamy without being too heavy. Liquid glides across the tongue aided by minimal carbonation.
O - a pretty tasty and crushable brew. The first half is so good and light enough to keep you gulping down sip after sip, which is a good thing because I'm not a fan of how the beer sits on my tongue when all is said and done. Seems to be getting better the more I drink it.
