Appearance: Clear, black. Thick khaki mousse-like head with good retention.

Aroma: Roasted malt, toffee and coffee.

Flavor: Roasted malt, chocolate, coffee. Moderate to high sweetness but not cloying. Low bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Mouth coating and creamy. Low carbonation. Moderate length finish.

Overall: One of Dry County's best beers. A very good representation of the style. A straight forward smooth, creamy oatmeal stout with layered dark malt flavors and aromas. Gives a sweet impress but is drying at the finish. A shame this brewery didn't make it. This was a solid selection.

Outstanding Oatmeal Stout! Wonderfully made and a must have for a Georgia Back Roads traveler. Starting things off with the look. Deep Mahogany hue with dark brown highlights. The cap is about one pinky thick with bubbles. The head is medium tan in color. Not really pillowy. Hardly any lacing. Moving on to smell. Very complex aroma that is almost like sour cream or yogurt. Hints of dark chocolate and minimal coffee notes. Now for taiste. Right off the bat, very rich and sweet with bold roasted malt hitting you in the front. Starts off sweet with a good hit of chocolate and smooths out with a lactose tangy, sour cream complexity. Almost cheddar like tang on the pallet. Smooths out with a soft finish leaving you wanting another sip. Hop bitterness is low. Well balanced through out. The body and texture is fantastic with this beer. Upfront creamy and luxuriously smooth velvety on the tounge. Low carbonation. I have to say this is one fantastic Beer from my home state and Im proud the guys and gals did such a great jod with this beer! Love it and will purchase again!

Old 41 is a fantastic Oatmeal Stout as a matter of fact it is the current World Beer Cup Gold Medal winner. Rich taste but not overpowering. Spot on representation of the style so if you ever wanted to know what an Oatmeal Stout should taste like this is the beer for you. Nothing tricked out about this classic.

I visit the Dry County Brewery often and haven't had a bad beer there yet and Old 41 is no exception. Old 41 is a great representation of the style with nice roasted malts and a tinge of vanilla on the back end.

I had Old 41 at the Dry County Brewery in Kennesaw, Ga and it was pretty darn good. This isn't an imperial stout so it is actually a little bit refreshing which is unusual for a stout. Great dark malty flavor that kept me coming back for more. I also would recommend visiting the brewery if your in the ATL as it had a cool vibe.

On tap in Atlanta.
Good mix of dark malts and oatmeal. Lots of chocolate and a hint of coffee. Slightly bitter. Nice aftertaste. Excellent aroma.
Very smooth, medium-full body. Dark brown body with a decent tan head.

Overall: very good version of the style.
