16 ounce can - $5.49 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Dispensed a very dark brown body with a smallish, albeit viscous, sandy-tan head.
Smell: A fragrant nose of sweet-scented bourbon with lesser, subtler tones of chocolate, vanilla, dark fruit, roasted malts and a touch of heat.
Taste: Sweet, sugary taste of gooey dark treacle with a few drips and drabs of vanilla syrup. Vein of dark fruitiness racing through. Big on the Domino table sugar backed by a bit of bourbon, altogether muffling the softer, ingratiating undertones to a big degree. Stays quite sweet and unyieldingly sugary through the finish. Bummer.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium-light carbonation. A bit smooth, a bit sticky on the mouthfeel.
Overall: I'd had an earlier iteration and recall I found it less exceedingly sugary. This was a bit tough to work through, its unctuous sweetness never abating for a moment.

WOW this is such a big surprise.
Look: Dark black and opaque. Medium head.
Smell: Rich and boozy, with vanilla, caramel and faint oak.
Taste: Smooth, complex and rich. Low bitterness. Pretty sweet but not cloying. The barrel and whiskey is very present, but the alcohol hides well.
Feel: Thick and delicious. Slightly syrupy with very low carbonation.
Dangerously easy to drink. This is the beer has a cool story behind the name and a fantastic taste to match. Selfishly hope this remains a hidden gem that I can continue to purchase at my local package store here in Kennesaw.
