Served in a snifter at pint defiance in Tacoma wa.
Poured a cedar red with 1/4" of white lace which collapses fast to a single ring and then might disappear.
Smell: the beginning is all hibiscus, but then there's a weird sour note right at the end that isn't bad but isn't quite right. Maybe some ginger note? It's better without it. One of us thinks it's fishy.
Taste and body: summery, light, refreshing. Perfectly carbonated for the body and taste. The body is light on the tongue but is appropriate for the style and supports the flavor. The ginger spice is there, often on the back of the palate and slightly through the nose. There is a lot of herbal flavor and it lives up to the smell (minus the weird off notes). Fizzy at the beginning and then settles in a great way. Two of the party think muted banana (one no), but not in a bad way.
Overall: great summer beer. Great flavor and balance. We loved it and would have more. You will too...
