From bomber into pint glass;
Dark amber with huge, billowy white head. Light lacing.
Flavors are malt, followed by a lot of pine and some citrus, ending on boozy notes. Carbonation is aggressive.
It’s good, but has a lot going on. Really tastes like an older American ipa made extra boozy.

Bottle from the Boise Co-op. I in added this as an Oktoberfest beer. Label says it is a hopped märzen and they claim it's an IPA, but at its heart this is a tried-and-true märzen. Nice amber color, small fluffy head, clumpy Lacey. Nice malty Aroma and taste, with a little bit of hop bitterness at the end. Interesting combo, it works well.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Apperance- The beer pours a reddish-amber color with a one finger head of white foam. The head fades rather fast to leave a little bit foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell-The aroma is heaviest of some fruits of apple, pear, and raisin. With these smells comes some aromas of roasted malt, pine, and a bit of bread.
Taste -The taste begins with a lightly roasted malt flavor with some tastes of hop of pine and grass. There are some light fruit tastes that are present upfront, with the apple, pear, and plum, growing stronger and stronger as the taste advances. In the end, a little bit of toast and herb come to the tongue, to leave one with a decently roasty and malty taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel- The body of the brew is slightly thicker and chewier with a carbonation level that is average. For the roast and moderate hop, the feel is good and makes for a somewhat easy, but not too easy to drink brew.
Overall- An alright brew, but nothing all that exciting overall.

First off, I must complain about it being called an "IPA" on the label whereas it clearly states it's a lager on the cans description. Nitpicking, I know, but from the stand point of this breweries longevity, this seems like an amateur mistake...
Anyhoo, on to the beer. It pours a very dark shade of amber. Excellent clarity with a big foamy off white head that persists and laces well.
The first thing noticed in the aroma is alcohol. It's a bit distracting, but there is no question there is an abundance of hops. Fresh hops as advertised, with an assertive pine and herbal spice mixture going on, resting over a caramel covered bread. Some cinnamon like spices too.
Drinks much more like an amped up Oktoberfest. Lots of caramel and spices with a long lasting bittersweet fruitiness. A touch of alcohol in the taste as well.
Pretty hefty feel to this. A bold, spicy, sturdy, sappy, and sweet body followed by a tingling bitter bite in the end. A decent amount of alcoholic warmth as suspected accompanied by a late fizzy carbonation and a dry finish, all the while managing to leave a sticky residue on the lips.
This beer is kind of all over the place and isn't exactly in either the "Oktoberfest" or "IPA" category. It's not all that enjoyable for me, but an interesting idea. Perhaps a less aggressive grain bill and this would work quite well, but who the hell am I to make such a suggestion? Repackage this and call it an "India Amber Lager" and then I'm probably sold. Prost.
