12oz bottle poured into a tulip
A- pours brown in color with a one-finger foamy khaki head that has great retention and leaves some lacing behind
S- blackberries stewed with sugar, powdery chocolate, light char. Undertones of brown sugar, vanilla and bourbon oak
T- semi sweet cocoa powder, followed by a big hit of blackberry that comes across a bit artificial mid-palate. The finish gives more blackberry, cola and chocolate. The barrel is hard to find, but a hint of bourbon if you try
M- medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a creamy mouthfeel that continues into a velvety finish

Poured moderately hard from a bottle into a snifter glass, forming a bit of head that quickly faded to a ring of lacing. Dark brown, pretty much cola brown, but with maybe a hint of purple in the right light. Smells like malty blackberries, no doubt about the blackberries already. Taste has a background of malty/roasty porter, but blackberries are forward from beginning to end. Fruity and mildly sweet, there's definitely something here for blackberry lovers. First time I've had a beer using them. Medium bodied with a moderate bite of carbonation. Glad I tried it, but a little on the odd side.

A good brew!!! Picked up a 12 oz bottle at Total Wine, Chesapeake VA. Pours a clear mahogany brown color with reddish light coming through when held to a light. Medium size light tan foamy head with good retention and a small amount of lacing on the pint glass. Aroma and taste feature blackberry and slightly sweet malt. There is not much evidence of the bourbon barrel, which can be overwhelming in some beers. The fruit is the dominant aroma and some slightly sweet malt backing it up. Mouthfeel is rich and smooth with a hint of alcohol accompanying the fruit and malt. Goes down easy for 8.3% abv. A good beer!!!!

sweet mother of christ this beer is delicious, i only bought one when i was getting a custom six pack. but i mean imagine this, you have a lil bit of peanut butter on a spoon, and a bottle of liquid blackberry jelly, 100 percent guarantee that it would taste just like a PB&J if eaten/drank at the same time. Didnt get a look at the color because i drank it out the bottle but the mouth feel is freaking velvet, flavor is almost like a blackberry preserves, has the reminiscent thickness of a casual porter but without the syrup vibes.

Pours almost black in color with a tall espresso colored head. Smells of blackberry, fruit, chocolate & malts. Taste follows the nose, has a vey artificial flavor unfortunately. Full-bodied, boozy, smooth.

Such a disappointment. Tastes like someone dumped a packet of grape kool aid into a weak brown ale then aged it in tinfoil. I had high hopes based off some of their other offerings.
