Stepping back from their British roots and taking the tastebuds to Germany, a truly charismatic beer can be found on the journey.
Pouring a brilliantly clear golden hue, Charismatic Pilsner showcases a lively stream of bubbles to build a frothy, cottony cap. As its straight-forward grain character emits the scent of fresh bread, biscuit and floral aromas, its taste starts simple and sweet. Biscuit sweetness and floral hops intertwine with a notion of honeysuckle, white bread and the raw potential of pilsner malt.
As the lager slowly turns the taste over to the hops, a balanced taste of floral spice and mild sweetness start to trend pleasantly herbal with the taste of fresh grassiness, a peppery bitterness and an overall offset to bready sweetness. With light hints of apple and lemon peaking through the hops, the beer's final taste is seemingly of lemongrass and parsley.
Medium light on the tongue, the beer has a fuller taste than that American lagers as it shares a more biscuit and honey tone into finish. A medium short linger of herbs has the session feeling clean, crisp and rather refreshing, albeit a touch grainy.
