Pours a good color with a minimal head that disappears quickly. Aroma of sweet blueberries. Taste is slightly tart blueberry and floral notes. Slightly bitter finish.

Look: Pours almost clear, kinda yellow
Smell: Blueberries
Taste: TERRIBLE!!! This is the worst tasting beer by a mile, it's so weird, smells a lot better than it tastes.
Feel: Chewy. It lingers in your mouth
Overall: This is the worst tasting beer by a mile, not even close, no one compares. I would rather drink Bud Light than drink this.

Pours clear, light yellow with a two finger head. Aroma is blueberries and grain. If there's bourbon in the aroma, I am unable to detect it. Taste is strongly blueberry with a bit of wood grain. Bourbon barrel brews are among my favorites. If there's any bourbon taste here, I can't detect it. This brew is light, smooth and mildly sweet.

Bringing their bourbon barrel spirit into summer, Lexington Brewing picks up on the warm weather taste of blueberry for a not-so-subtle flavor and feel.
Blueberry Barrel Wheat captivates the nose and mouth with intense dark berry flavor. Backed with a thin caramelized body, honey and cookie dough flavor, the blueberry character carries a ripe, plump, and almost soda-like taste.
The cloudy gold ale saturates the middle with its cakey sweetness lead by the dark fruit. Somewhat puree in its stature, notions of sorbet and sherbet come to mind. With a glimpse of barrel and subtle almond and vanilla flavors rising, a more balanced, bourbony finish looms.
As the sweetness lifts, the berry flavor dissolves ever so slightly. This allows for the wheaten sweetness and spiciness of oak to penetrate. Closing bourbon flavor is light but definitely doesn't overwhelm the fruit. Its peppery finish is woven together with lingering vanilla and wheaty cream.
The blueberry flavors are bold but not dominant. Light on head formation and retention, the ale simmers in the snifter at times more resembling blueberry soda. I can't wait to introduce this beer to folks who don't think that they like beer.

Alltech's Lexington Brewing Co. "Kentucky Blueberry Barrel Wheat "
12 fl. oz. brown glass bottle coded "2022-05 11 22BW01C" and sampled on 07/21/22
$4.99 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ
Notes via stream of consciousness: The label reads "AMERICAN WHEAT ALE WITH NATURAL FLAVORS AGED IN OAK BOURBON BARRELS". Does that mean the flavoring was added prior to going into the wood? That seems a little bit odd to me because then you can't reuse those barrels except for the same beer. Whatever. It's poured a hazy deep golden body beneath a finger's width of white foam. The aroma clearly displays oak (wood & some vanilla) as well as a touch of blueberry-like fruitiness and bready malt. The flavor follows. It's a little weird but somehow it works. I guess the vanilla flavor, which now that I think about it is probably from flavorings and not the wood itself, supports the blueberry and balances against the wood. The malt is sweetish, bready, wheaty, and caramelish. It's a malty beer, and the body is medium-full. A moderate to median bitterness balances it and it finishes dry with the dryness of the oak helping out. This was an expensive beer for me at $5, and I don't normally mention the price of a beer because it has nothing to do with the appearance, smell or taste BUT I wanted to point out that I thought it was worth it for three reasons. Firstly, it's a barrel aged beer which has an increased cost for the brewer. It's not just the barrels and the time, a lot of beer is lost. Half of the beer that goes into barrels is either lost or goes down the drain because of infection. Secondly it's unique and therefore worth tasting; I've never had a beer like this before. Finally, it was good. It may not have been great but I enjoyed it quite a bit and if it cost me $3 more than something else it was well worth it.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear bluish tinted golden color with a one finger head of puffy white foam. The head fades rather fast leaving a tiny bit of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is super strong of a wheat bread smell mixed with some light smells of blueberry and a bit of lemon. Along with these smells comes a little bit of oak and a touch of bourbon.
Taste – The taste begins with a wheaty and grainy flavor mixed with sweeter tastes of caramel and sugar. There is a little bit of blueberry upfront, with this flavor getting slightly stronger as the taste advances. For a blueberry ale, I was hoping for something a bit more blueberry heavy. As the taste advances some hay and a bit of bourbon and oak come to the tongue, with the mix of flavors leaving a light blueberry wheat and rather sweet and somewhat bourbon boozy taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is medium in thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is high. The feel is rather nice for the mix of blueberry and bourbon wheat making for an easy sipper.
Overall – An alright blueberry brew. I would have liked a bit more intensity on the blueberry, but overall it was rather tasty.

12oz bottle poured into a tulip glass at fridge temp 8% ABV. The beer pours slightly opaque medium amber with nearly white head. The head recedes to a thin ring and island. No lacing. The aroma is blueberry, vanilla and faded oak. The taste is semisweet blueberry up front with a hint of oak and vanilla alongside a typical wheat mash flavor. Mild bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation and a semi dry finish. Overall, good. As advertised with the blueberry, although the bourbon barrels are usually way in the background on these beers.
