This German-style Munich Helles is a light blonde lager featuring 100% German Heidelberg Malt. Subtly hopped, this lager showcases delicate citrus nuances from both the Herkules and Huell Melon hop varietals. A sessionable, quality-crafted, everyday lager.

Excellent lager served fresh at Salty’s in Halifax. Sweet, unlike a lot of lagers, not too dry or crisp. Moderate bitterness. Light malty presence.

L- Pours a pale golden topped by a 1/4 finger white head. Poor head retention and no lacing.

S- sweet malt, crisp apple, and a light lemon note. Very mild hop presence on the nose.

T- Taste is much of the same with a slight grassy note on the finish. Nice and crisp!

F- Light-medium body with moderate but prickly carbonation.

O- I'm typically not a big Lager drinker, but this interpretation of a German Helles is extremely flavourful and crisp. Incredibly easy drinking brew that makes me long for warmer days. Two thumbs up from me!

Canned: Clear straw color with moderate activity. Slightly foamy 2 finger head, lasting around 2 minutes, poor legs and swirl reaction. Flavors of sweet barley, apples, light caramel and lemon, lager yeast, and floral hops. Slick medium to full body with prickly carbonation. Light strength finish, mostly grainy and very faintly dry hopped, mild adjunct feel of corn. Overly accessible for the mass, but true to the Helles style. Decent freshness and balance, good attenuation. Overall above average quality craft.

Poured from 12 ounce can into a tall cylindrical glass. Date stamped on the can was 27 June 2018. Interesting raised texture on and around the image of the buoy on the can, a nice touch. The two finger head quickly faded, and then faded to nothing at all. Aroma of bread, citrus zest, and surprisingly slightly boozy. Minimal carbonation after five minutes. Despite great clarity, it lost some points on appearance. Taste is creamy with malt flavor that reminded me of the stuff inside Whoppers candy. The taste is balanced, nothing spikey coming through at all.
Mouthfeel is light and quenching. No aftertaste that I could pick up on. It is a good session beer.

Clear gold with a small head. Cereal malt nose with some fruitiness. Light malt body with a light hoppiness and pleasant lager crispness.

Pours a clear, straw colored body with about a half inch of carbonated foam that quickly decays to a film. The nose is malty, with some muskiness and bready aromas coming over a faintly grassy bouquet. The taste begins with a clear reminder of cereal grains, as sharp and spicy hops nip in a final bitter edge. The finish is crisp, but actually does ring out with some of the grassy notes as well, making it not only a beer that can be drunk in higher quantities due to the low alcohol, but one that does not need to have its flavours constantly refreshed on the palate as many other light beers do. Nice, perhaps a new favorite lager of mine.
