Our Milk Milk stout was brewed as a Milk Stout using lactose for the first 8 years we were open, then we stopped hang lactose and switched to allulose because we had a high demand from customers who are lactose intolerant. It still tasted the same and just as creamy. So we changed the cans to Oatmeal Stout, however; since we’ve branded to name for so long we kept it Milk Milk and just changed the description on our cans to Oatmeal stout and starting describing it in our locations that way as well. None of our cans have said milk stout in the last year

Canned 9/17/24. From the cooler at the Owego taproom. This is my 2nd one. First seemed none the worse for wear.
Left out for five minutes before opening.
Very dark brown, with light tan head.
Smells of cola, damp charred wood, and a bit of chocolate syrup . A bit more of the latter from the open can.
Taste is dark chocolate, some woody char, slight nuttiness, with light bitterness near the end. Lightly sweet. I wouldn't have suspected any lactose, if the can didn't mention it. With the first one ( a few days ago) , that was probably 10F warmer[low 50s?] it seemed sweeter.
Feel is light-side-of medium, initially smooth, followed by light, semi-sharp carbonation tingle.
Overall, a nice basic stout, that's not too heavy. Not as dry as a Dry Irish Stout, but closer to that than the usual milk stout. Black Butte Porter-ish. ;)

rather sweet, and full feeling for its low alcohol too, but a well made beer if you dont mind them sugary all the way through. for me this felt a little richer than i needed it to, a single can still felt like a lot, but i like the flavors real well and think they have a nice recipe here, i dig it being no frills, this style could use a return to basics across the industry right now i reckon, so this was exciting in that regard too. shiny near black, short but lasting creamy tan head, nose of milk chocolate all day, some darker fudge, subtle espresso bean warmth and light licorice even, some raisin sweetness in the middle too, toffee, maple, wintery all the way. the flavor is good, sweet the whole drink but especially rich in the center where the chocolate notes peak. more roasted bitterness or a little lighter handed lactose addition would improve drinkability in a style id like to have a couple of in a sitting, but its not way off and it does warm up favorably too. i love the chocolate layers, the subtle vanilla on the back end, and the faint hint of smoke that wafts through. nice malt build at the core of this, a cleaner fermentation than i experienced in their glen ale just before i had this one, and overall a nice desserty winter sipper. a few tweaks from greatness, but this scratched my itch for something dark and a little bit regal...

Pours dark. Tan foam. Sweet aroma. Dry hop body. Finishes bitter. Not a lot of sweetness. More of a dry stout than a milk stout. Not bad but i feel misled.
