Pours bright, like shiny new copper (SRM 4-6). The brightness is accentuated because it is gem clear. An off-white, fluffy head briefly holds one and a half inches before dissipating to a thin veil. Occasional random bubbles of fine carbonation race upwards, trying to reach spotty lace on a Spaten dimpled mug.
The aroma is more fruity than malty. Apple cider comes out front with light sourness behind. Some spices start faint and build with warmth.
The flavor is equally proportioned with light bitterness and sweetness. Barely toasted white bread adds to the autumnal flavor. The finish is long, mild, and has a touch of toffee.
The medium body has a soft smooth texture of jersey cotton. Alcohol is as light as it was expected to be. Carbonation has a soft fizziness that accentuates a hint of astringency and metallic qualities.
While I think this beer is off style with regard to aroma, it is still enjoyable on a warm, early autumn afternoon. This is the kind of beer one can enjoy while chatting with friends before a football game.

Canned 9/16/25. Can from Owego taproom cooler. Into the home fridge 10 min later.
Clear light amber, with 2 fingers of off-white head.
Smell is light toffee and caramel, with a touch of biscuit and spice.
Initial taste is caramel, quickly followed by noble hop spiciness, then a bit of toffee and brown bread. There is an aftertaste reminiscent of a bran muffin with raisin. [Not enough raisins if it was an actual muffin, but just enough to notice in this beer. ;) ]
Feel is light-medium, with moderate , very fine carbonation bite, and slightly drying finish. Slight brief syrupy/coating feel just before finish.
Overall, fairly pleasant and satisfying. Good "just-havin'-a-beer" beer, if you're not there to think about it and analyze. Labeled as a festbier, but to me seems like a hybrid of a festbier and a marzen. Just light/crisp enough that I'd welcome it just about anytime, though because I generally prefer the festbiers to the marzens, this isn't near the top of my Okto list.
