Canned 11/1/23. Let sit out til ~55F.
Dark brown with 1/2 finger of deep tan head.
Smell is chocolate syrup , with whiskey and bourbon taking turns flashing across that. After the head fades, the whiskey is slightly more predominate. (Though the BA description listed above only mentions whiskey, the current can label mentions whiskey and bourbon, and is 12%, rather than 10%.)
Taste is chocolate liqueur , a bit of toasted chocolate , as when the edge of brownies or chocolate cake gets dry, a little woody char, plus some whiskey, vanilla, and bourbon.
Feel is medium, slick, and smooth, with light, very, very fine carbonation tingle. No noticeable alcohol effects.
Overall, good, but the whiskey seems just a little too noticeable. Probably needs to age a bit longer, and blend more. I probably should have some sort of dessert with this. Seems as though it would be a good companion. Dangerously easy-drinking.

Pours a dark mahogany with a chocolate colored head.
Whiskey, Bourbon, dark roasted malt bread, Bourbon soaked plums in the nose
Big and boozy with good intense flavor, silky, smooth, chocolate, nuts, malt. It's a sipper.

I liked it. A lot. 500 ml bottle poured into a glass. Started at roughly 35 degrees and drank over about 45 minutes.
Look: Stout dark with a thick tan head that eventually reduced to a thin covering.
Smell: The aroma was a little on the 'boozy' side. If there was an adverb for noses like 'squint' for eyes, I could say when I detect a hint of nuts and chocolate . . . but I wouldn't say that in court.
Taste: I liked it. The whiskey was not over-powering and the base taste was good. It was also consistent over the time it took to drink. That is odd for me, as usually an RIS is characterized by changing flavors as it warms and, generally, I prefer the end result. This started as above average and stayed pretty much the same as it warmed.
Feel: Definitely a substantialness to it. No real idea how to rate feel, and its not 'oily' like some stouts I have had from Spain and Brazil, but one the more 'viscous' end.
Overall: Probably my favorite New York state BA stout to date and better than anything else I have had from an upstate brewer. I would buy again.

Sampling a cellar temp crowler poured into my trusty snifter. A gift from my brother Brian. Thanks man!
This was filled in 2019 so if the vintages of this brew change that would explain the 12% ABV on my crowler and no the 9.6 listed here on the site.
The beer pours a jet black hue with a 2.5 creamy and dense tan head. This foam fades slowly to a sturdy surface layer and some edging that sticks to my glass with dense lattice work after each sip.
The aroma is dark chocolate and some cocoa syrup with a hit of vanilla and good dose of bourbon that tends to dominate the nose. no hops and the booze is actually kind of mild at this point.
the first sip reveals a fairly thick body with a silky smooth texture that is a little syrupy and coating on my palate. The carbonation is very mild and spacious and is almost cask like in presence.
the flavor is lots of dark malt with dark cacao, some light coffee ground notes and a good hit of brown sugar and vanilla mixing with a good dose of bourbon that lingers after each swallow. The booze comes through on the finish with a good dose of warming character that lingers down my throat and into my belly.
This is a nice Imperial Stout and I would be glad to try this again if ever given the opportunity. This is worth a try if you are in the Finger Lakes region.

On tap at Lucky Hare Brewing Company in Hector, NY.
This one pours a very dark black, with a small brown head, and not much lacing.
This one smells like roasted malt, slight booze, and bitter dark chocolate.
This is also really solid. It's quite beefy, and a little bit boozy, but it's got a great roasted malt character, some very light smoke, with some bitter dark chocolate.
This is medium bodied, surprisingly chewy, with a good level of carbonation for the style.
I could see this doing very well in a barrel or, or with various flavorings added to it- it's a nice no frills stout that seems like a blank canvas.
