No noticeable date, but probably doesn't matter with this. Purchased 12/14/23, at the Owego taproom.
Let sit out for ten minutes, before opening.
Translucent orange, with slight purple tint. Light, quickly-dissipating white head.
Smell is acetic, vinous, and lightly jammy.
Taste is similar to aroma, but in reverse order , and predominance . There is a fleeting bit of crackery malt flavor , just after the initial jammy grape flavor. This almost, but not quite, temporarily make the tartness disappear. Medium tart, with a typical acetic aftertaste, though a little less intense than usual. A dry, woody flavor shows up, and hangs on for a couple of seconds, after everything else is gone.
Feel is light-medium, slick and juicy, with light, very, very, very fine carbonation tingle. Drying sensation after finish. Though it's almost a double, compared to most wild ales, no noticeable alcohol presence.
Overall, a very good wild ale. Not overly acetic, and the other flavors come through. Could drink this all day (if not for the abv & cost. ;) )
