Taster sample at the brewery. This is the straight un-barreled version.
Jet black with a thin layer of tan foam that dissipated quickly, leaving flecks of spotty lace around the glass.
Roasty and dry, bakers chocolate in the aroma and taste, some mild sweetness. Finishes on the drier side, with a light char and firm bitter finish. Medium bodied, smooth texture with some viscosity to it. Seems a little heftier than the last batch, but this is the first non-BA version i've tried so far.
Overall it bodes well for the next BA batch that the base beer was this solid. Hoping for good things to come.
