Copenhagen 30/11 2020. 44 cl can from Østerbro Vin & Spiritus, Østerbrogade, Kbh. Ø (formerly Gunnar Madsen Vinhandel). Silhouette of black pine tree branches with deep red background.
Pours hazy, opaque golden yellow with a mid-sized fluffy white head. Settles as thin layer of foam struggling to cover the surface of the beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet malty odor mingling with exotic fruit. Citric notes. Caramel meeting peach and pineapple. Citrus and grape fruit. Slightly acerbic.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, soft, smooth, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly stronger citric bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and a little thin. Lingers for a bit. Finish is semi-dry.
I do not know what distinguishes a Christmas IPA from any other IPA. And this one does not make me any wiser.
