Cold Smoke is Gamma's first seasonal beer in the series for the hardships of Christmas. It is a smoked beer gracefully balanced between smoke and flavor. You will be able to find notes of bacon, smoked beech wood and a slightly delicate final sweetness.
Imagine that you are sitting in front of the fireplace with your family. The children are sitting with a plate of freshly baked Christmas cookies with the family. You need to treat yourself, and feel a thirst that can only be quenched by a refreshing beer. You find a beer, Cold Smoke, and as soon as you open the beer, the room is filled with a delicate aroma of smoke and malt. Everything is in the most beautiful order. Christmas is idyllic.

Copenhagen 18/2 2022. 44 cl can from Meny, Borups Allé, Frb. F. Gamma's usual design this time with a painting of a cloudy blue sky as motif.
Pours almost clear golde yellow with a small bubbly white head. Disappears more or less after half a minute leaving a thin puddle of foam behind. No lacing.
Aroma is fairy intense with a sweet malty odor mingling with a distinct scent of smoke and peat. Sweet pale malts and bread. Burnt tree on a bonfire, salted fish, salami and smoked peat.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, slightly viscous and greasy, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a fairly strong sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a light smoky streak. Lingers for a bit. Finish is semi-dry.
Pretty light on the smoke - but I do get that old ashtray vibe.
