Copenhagen 20/2 2020. 44 cl can from Mikkeller Webshop. Blue organic pattern on the can. Looks like a close up of something slimy and unpleasant which is colored blue to make it look a little better.
Pours opaque, hazy, golden yellow with a medium-sized white head. Settles as uneven, lumpy layer of foam just managing to cover the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is intense with sweet exotic fruit and juicy citrus fruit. Papaya mango, pungent pear. Light odor of fermentation. Strong odor of juicy grape fruit and citrus.
Light carbonation. Soft, smooth, oily almost flat texture.
Flavor is medium intense. Medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly stronger citric bitterness. Aftertaste is citric and bitter. Lingers for a while. Semi-dry finish.
Splendid NEIPA finding a good balance between the sweet and the bitter. And being perfectly smooth about it.
