Baltic Porter Day is on Saturday, and of course we (Tomasz) has made a contribution again this year.
The name Okiść is a Polish word for tree crown snow load. A very wintery and fitting word for this January-brew.
This time, compared to last years, Śreżoga, we have changed the grist a little bit by adding touch of peated malt for that extra cosy flavour. Okiść is generally still sweet with notes of chocolate and coffee and a gentle underline of smoked plums. Fermentation went further this year, and the outcome is this 9.0% Baltic Porter

Copenhagen 21/3 2026. 44 cl can from Kihoskh, Sønder Boulevard, Kbh. V. Can in Gamma Brewing's usual design with a motif that looks like the light playing on restless dark waters.
Pours opaque dark brown with a mid-sized light beige head. Stable. Settles as a 0,5 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet odor of hard roasted dark malts mingling with brown sugar and earthy fumes. A roasted and burnt odor, brown sugar a caramel. Leather and alcohol.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, a bit viscous, soft, creamy and a little tingling texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with a rather strong sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and a little short. Mellowing sweet and boozy undertone. Finish is semi-dry with a touch of alcohol.
A fine celebration of Baltic Porter Day.
