12oz canned 10-12-21. Opened 12-3-21.
2 finger sand colored head. Good retention.
Dark brown, ruby highlights against the light.
Smoky, licorice, nutmeg type of spiciness, blue/dark fruit and molasses. Digging the aroma.
Light roasted malt with a hint of the smokiness evident in the aroma. The fruit is also aligned with the aroma.
Very tasty, drinks like a holiday beer in some ways.
Medium body with appropriate carbonation. Roasty, lengthy finish that stays dry.
Very Good to Outstanding.

Poured into a pint glass, sides sloped at 11° from vertical (OK, I made that last part up). Poured about 3/4" head, moderately tight lacing that dissipated pretty quickly. Plenty of malt aroma with a detectable amount of yeast in there as well (more Wonder bread than brioche, he says pretentiously). Taste is mostly what you'd expect from an English-style porter, but with a touch more bittering hop undertones that I would expect. Nice full mouth feel, though. A good four-season porter.
