Thick, viscous pour. Motor oil in the glass, with only scarce traces of tan carbonation bubbles that find their way to the top.
Lots of chocolate on the nose, with notes of cassia and vanilla becoming increasingly more prevalent the longer the beer sits in the glass. If you really dig deep, there are some subtle undertones of toasted malt and sweet molasses.
Big, sweet flavors hit right away. Hit right away with baker’s chocolate and bitter, dark roast coffee flavors. The cinnamon spice follows up and are a bit milder than expected. That being said, what does hit the palate helps to bring about previously lost notes of raisin, roasty malt, and toffee. I’ll be honest that while I don’t get much of a cinnamon roll taste, it’s still a damn good stout.
That big, thick stout base I’ve come to expect from all Dogma beers of the same style. Sticky, and with an almost non-existent carbonation. I’d even go as far as to say I’d have preferred for it to have a touch more. Finishes heavy and warming, smooth and one of the easiest-drinking 11% stouts I’ve had in awhile in regards to booziness.
