This brewery is 1/2 of a space shared with Red Rambler Coffees. Essentially, upon walking in, the first half is the coffee shop and the half further back is the brewery's space. North River's only necessarily separate space is the bar itself, which does have some seating, but other standalone seating would match just as well if the coffee shop was a single venture. Ultimately, it looks like a coffee shop with a bar and some taps in the back. It's nothing unique but it also isn't going for either overly rustic falling apart or super hipster techno-douche.
The service is good, though I've only been when the taps had just opened. I wouldn't call it fast or slow, but I haven't been served by the actual brewers or anyone specific to the beer side. I've met them in person, though, and they're always happy to talk beer.
I do like all the beer I've tried from North River, and while they can't have a ton of taps they run a good gamut on style variance using the taps they have. The food is from the coffee shop side and involves mostly baked goods and some pretty good breakfast sandwiches.

Well......This place just didn't do it for me. While they did have a bar rail, the place really seemed much more like a coffee shop, which it also is. I have seen this combo work before, but not this go round.
Service was lame, from what seemed to be a couple high school girls, but I guess they must have been 21 to serve beer ?
I had two Hopulus Maximus beers, and they weren't bad, but not great, either . The rest of the selections looked ok, but I really didn't feel like sticking around to find out. I was also served some of the most pathetic wings I have ever seen. Trust me, you don't want these. Wow. I did get a couple scones to go, which were pretty good.
Might be a decent place for a coffee and a scone, but if you want to be a craft beer bar, hire a proper bartender, and get rid of, or greatly improve the other food.

(a little disclosure, I consider the owners to be friends)
North River shares its location with Red Rambler Coffee in the Ace Plaza of Wauseon. (across from Wal-Mart)
The schedule and menu are still evolving, but its been a good start.
Eight taps, and every beer I've had has been good.
The coffee stout and the IPA are my two favorites.
Looking forward to more from my local brewhouse!
