473 ml can served cold into a chalice. LCBO purchase for around $4 CDN. Novelty purchase.
Appearance - Dark chestnut brown with a finger plus of loose and frothy light tan head. Rather good head retention although sparse on the lacing.
Smell - Root beer all the way with some other sweet elements. Vanilla isn't prominent.
Taste - Root beer with some creamy sweet flavors serving as the background. A little tiny bit of vanilla. Flavor doesn't really linger. Sweetness starts to build by the second half of the beer and it becomes a bit too much.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied kind of creamy with lower than average carbonation. A bit syrup but the the finish is thin.
Overall - Lost Craft has executed a Root Beer Float in beer form quite well here, with that said unless you absolutely love root beer and want to get a buzz off this, I can't see it more than a novelty treat. With that said, I did enjoy my two cans.

A straight up novelty beer. Root beery enough to decently evoke that soda and just stouty enough to cover that off, too. But stuck squarely in the middle. A fun kind of one off, but not something I'd do on the regular. Looks like a proper root beer float on pour, root beer notes reinforced by stout charscteristics makes for an interesting aroma. A little confusing to taste, but not off-putting. Was just okay, would probably work over ice in the summer or with a burger.
