This regional favorite is an oldtime Cincinnati favorite and one of several beers I always knew as a "Cincinnati green" beer. In retrospect I think that came from the perceived lack of aging that gave the "greens" a sense of a rough finish. Perhaps that was also their appeal in the local market, as they did have a distinct regional taste that wasn't found in other areas. Schoenling (shane lean) is a good example of that ilk and was beloved in the market. Never the beer that others were it faded from the normal retail market but still lives as a remnant of the formerly great Cincinnati brewing industry. A bit macro in the lesser sense.
