Vol 3:
No date on can
Looked like shit. Murky greenish brown. Smell was muted. Decent mouthfeel. Taste was weak. Would not buy again.

"Kung Fu Robot Double Dragon DDH IPA Volume 1: Double Cryo Citra."
FORMAT: 12 fl oz aluminum pull-tab can. A sixer ran me $13.99 USD plus tax at a Total Wine in Austin, TX; I've seen it priced the same at Central Market.
HEAD: ~2 cm in height. Off-white colour. ~3 minute head retention.
BODY: Clear orange-copper of average vibrance. Obviously filtered.
Looks standard for an IPA.
AROMA: Yogurty notes. Floral hops. Pale malts.
I don't find Citra's signature citrusy character, probably because the yogurty aromatics eclipse most everything else. Aromatic intensity is average.
TASTE: Yogurt. Floral hop notes. Pale malts/2-row. That's about it.
It's a shame Citra isn't well showcased here. Hop profile isn't very interesting, hop pungency is disappointingly low, hop bitterness is very restrained.
TEXTURE: Smooth, wet, medium-bodied, unrefreshing, well-carbonated.
Doesn't accentuate specific notes or elevate the beer as a whole.
Not oily, gushed, hot, boozy, astringent, chewy, rough, harsh, or scratchy. Not juicy, either.
OVERALL: A rather forgettable IPA that doesn't showcase Citra well at all and lacks the hop pungency and character necessary to make it a solid expression of the intended style. I wouldn't buy another sixer at half its current price...this is easily one of the worst value IPAs currently brewed in the Austin, TX market.
