L: Pours Dark black with a very creamy head and good lacing on the glass. Poured via nitro.
S: Roasted malt, little bit of chocolate, not the most aromatic stout.
T: Roasted malt, some chocolate a little bit of bitterness, not overly flavorful.
F: Very smooth and creamy but the nitro makes it a little watery.
O: Average stout that could use some more flavor and less watery mouthfeel.

served on nitro, this was probably my favorite of the beers at the newly opened dead hippie, a real cool place worth checking out. very very dark in color, soft in look though with the pillowy tan nitro head and the lack of shine to it. diving in. nutty roasted malts and a little smoke to this, really rich and smooth, but lacking the caramel malt middle we sometimes see, and i dont miss it at all. instead a dry almost ashy malt complexion and scorched barley come into play. slight almond flavor, dark chocolate, bitter but not too much so. the nitro really makes it in terms of feel, so smooth and expansive, mild bubbles, but it feels alive still. palate coating but dry. hefty but not filling. delicious. sometimes a simple stout this well made is as good as anything in a barrel with cocoa nibs or whatever, its not needed here. this is an all day drinker, especially nice in cold weather. a great introduction to this new brewery that i now expect big things from. definitely the best beer on their menu in the early going.

A very solid dry stout. Notes of Chocolate and Coffee. Low enough in alcohol to be easy drinking but complicated enough to sit and enjoy.
