this is absolutely by far my least favorite beer i have had in here. not that there is really anything wrong with it, its just really unimpressive and not a style that means much to me. clear and tarnished penny colored copper, with a short lived white head like a soda in the globe. it smells sweet and more belgian than english, definitely fermented on the warmer side of reasonable for this strain, and all sorts of sharp flavors have developed as a result, rendering it nearly unrecognizable as english. bubblegum from the yeast and toffee from the malt dont really mingle well, and there is a mild metallic quality to the finish. its well carbonated, but too much sweetness in the end to be real drinkable, and perhaps just a miss of a recipe. i like all the other beers here so well, i was surprised to be so turned off by this one, but maybe its just me. aside from the weird yeast thing, there are no visible flaws of any kind, it just doesnt taste all that agreeable to me. all their hoppy and dark stuff has been very solid.
