this is definitely a belgian style wheat beer, the yeast is for sure the leading flavor agent, and its rather intense on that front. i like that while its wheat based, the grain is dialed up a bit here. it has an almost copper color to it, much darker and redder than anticipated from the description, but without much head there. it certainly has some darker crystal malt in it, giving a little brown sugar sweetness for the fruity notes of the belgian yeast strain to play with. banana and bubblegum come to mind, its pungent for sure, almost sharp, with a touch of white wine tannic aggressiveness going on, but the sweeter grain really helps tame it down. apples in the finish, very autumnal. pretty thick in feel, some hazy contributing to that, maybe some wheat residuals as well. the carbonation is also a shade under where it needs to be for the style. those less critical than myself will find an easy drinking flavorful wheat beer thats a little different from what they are used to. no need to be overly analytic here, its solid beer.
