definitely the best beer i have had from these guys so far, its a rye pale ale, and its fantastic. very blonde and super refreshing, it holds nearly an inch of lacy white head, nice rings as it sips down, and just a little haze. it smells pretty hoppy, but i can small the rye malt right away too, spicy up front with the citrus forward hops coming on later. delicate though for a rye beer, not a sloppy mess of a mash, but a well calculated brew thats been executed beautifully. the rye is a pale rye, its flavor is fresh and instant on the first sip. the hops come on rather early too, lemon zest and then quite a lot of bitterness for just a pale ale and not an ipa. it drinks lighter than it is though due to being super dry and very well carbonated. its nice to see these guys doing some new recipes and keeping it all moving forward. this is in my opinion their best beer to date. great use of rye, and i love that the rest of the grain bill has been kept really light. i could drink ten of these in an afternoon session. perfect for the coming warmer weather too...
