A twist on the Hefeweizen style wheat beer. Distinguished by its light body and flavored with hints of bananas and clove, then followed by coconut throughout. Named for an ancient nautical knot used by sailors and mariners, the Monkey's Fist was used to propel a ship's tie down lines to a dock or bring two neighboring ships together. The knot at the end of the rope served as a weight making it easier to throw.

Purchased a 16 oz can at The Casual Pint in Virginia Beach VA. Pours a hazy dull gold color with a huge foamy white head. There are scattered patches of lacing on the glass. Head retention is excellent!!! Aroma and taste feature a mild lemony taste, lots of yeast and kind of sweet , floral aspect that I finally realized was the coconut!!!! This is a good tasting beer, more robust than most American Wheat Beers, Reminded me a lot of Hoegaarden until the coconut kicks in. Mouthfeel is a lot richer than most Wheat Beers- American. The is a little wheat bitterness, a good amount of yeastiness and the sweet coconut. A very good, crisp summertime beer!!!
