A very good Gose. I bought a 16 oz can at The Casual Pint in Virginia Beach. Looking at the ingredients: mango, passion fruit, marshmallow and lactose, I thought these things would overwhelm the Gose style. I still think of a Gose as a wheat beer with salt. This beer manages to keep some traditional Gose aspects with the expanded ingedients list. Poured into a flute, this beer features a fast fading minimal fizzy white head with minimal lacing. The appearance isvery hazy likeaGose should be but the color is more orange/yellow than the standard straw yellow color. There is definitely some fruitiness here, especially the mango, but the citrus, wheat aspect and salt are all still fairly prominent. The aroma and taste balance the tropical fruit with some standard subtle Gose flavors....not that easy to pull off!!! Mouthfeel is slightly sweet from the fruit both wheat bitterness and saltiness are present too. A good summertime beer that istrue enough to Gose roots.
