Can poured into snifter. Hazy orange with amber tint. Foamy and thick white head, settles into bubbly thin cap.

Aroma is mostly citrus, but some unripe melon and earthy resins.

Flavor is citrus, orange and lemon zest, orange juice, grapefruit rind bitterness. Some melon. Doughy and cracker malt peeks through too.

Moderate carbonation and just under medium body.

Nice brew, easy going, refreshing and balanced.

Bottom of the pint can : 11/25/17 BSSC Champs ! Opened on 12/9/17

The color is three-toned, gold, orange and amber, deoending of the light. Major haze in the body with a creamy, bubnly, rocky and very lacy white foam covering. Impressively health looker.

Hull Melon hops give off this, light tropical, honeydew, starfruit and sweet-citrus and tropical style hoopy compkexity in the nose. Very sweet fruits, and an interrsting white wine, green grape effect deep down. It smells like freshly cut open honeydew mellon and Earthy herbs. Pungent, sweet, fermented wild grapes and apples thingy.

A rather dry and crispy bite impresses the palate. Feel is light, biscuit/herbal bitterness tone in the malt right off. Citra hops bring in some high-toned, bitter, woody effects, grapefruit and applewood smoke resinates in the finish. Very earthy malt edge actually provides some excellent support for the multi layered hop complexity.

Top shelf.

Poured on tap at the brewery.

Pours an opaque bright orange color with a finger of off-white head. The head sticks around for a while, leaving a fair bit of sticky lacing as it settles into a creamy film.

The aroma is very citrusy, with pungent notes of orange and grapefruit, with some more subtle pineapple. The back end is piney and bitter.

The flavor starts with a barrage of grapefruit and orange rind, followed by some pineapple and honeydew melon. Tons of bitter hop oils and pine coat the mouth before the subtlest hint of bready malt comes through on the finish.

The feel is medium-light bodied with prickly carbonation. Smooth, yet quite crisp and refreshing. Slightly dry on the finish.

Overall, a great pale ale that is hoppy as balls and full of flavors that would make a regular IPA nervous. It's perfectly bitter with plenty of sweeter tropical notes to provide balance.

Pint can dated 8/8/17. Pours very hazy dark orange (no clarity at all), with a good head that leaves a lot of lacing. Smells mainly of citra hops. Tastes mainly of citra hops, some bitterness, and not so much of the hull melon hops taste (which I would have preferred). Mouthfeel is good, moderate carbonation and juicy. Overall, a good beer but was more bitter than I would have liked, and I would have preferred more of the hull melon hops flavor.
