Collaboration with Borg Brugghús
A New England-style IPA brewed with Arctic thyme. We teamed up with Borg Brugghús of Reykjavik, Iceland, to throw a Nordic twist on this hazy staple. Waves of herbs and sweet thyme follow flavors of tropical fruit, mango, and citrus zest. The addition of Styrian Wolf and Grungiest hops keep that swell going with pockets of elderflower, anise, and even more mango.

A different approach to an IPA. The addition of thyme , Strygian Wolf and Grungiest
hops have a combo flavor of spice, rind, tropical fruit and citrus. Moderately hoppy finish Quite enjoyable.

I am trying this beer off the tapper at the brewery as part of a four sample flight. It poured a hazy golden with thick white head that is leaving some nice lace. I am rating this beer for the brewer hitting his mark....not so much that I really liked this beer.....the artic thyme really was present in this beer. A sample was enough for me. The scent had nice thyme and fruit hop notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with semi sweet tropical fruit base and strong thyme spice presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.

A- A fairly cloudy deep golden to pale orange brew pours from the tallboy can into a tall, narrow chalice. The head is a few fingers high and remains steady even after a minute or so with a luscious thick creamy texture. Lacing is huge with thick sheets and webs coating the glass.
S- Mostly getting fruity hops which tend to be on the softer, juicier side with tropical and citrus notes coming to mind. Peach, lime, bubble gum, cantaloupe and papaya come to mind. Hints of whole grains in the finish.
T- A pretty interesting flavor profile as the thyme comes alive and the bitterness from the hops bridges the gap between that herb and the fruitiness of the hop profile. Herbal time plays well with bitter grapefruit pith, lime, peach, mango, anise, floral and soft citrus hop notes. A touch bready and drier than it is sweet.
MF- Medium body overall that feels pretty full on the palate with a rich chewy creaminess and a moderately high level of carbonation. Very smooth with a dry and bitter finish.
The ripe grapefruit bitterness, soft tropical fruits and the thyme do work well together and each sip is loaded with flavor. Tasteful use of ingredients and something more interesting than your usually fruit bomb.

Lots of herbal aromas and flavors, with citrus and tropical fruit hops. Delicious and interesting, bringing some floral components too.
A nice twist on a hazy, juicy IPA. I love the Icelandic connection, I'm glad to see this collaboration brewed again. Definitely worth a try!

Can. Need to preface this by saying Iceland is my favorite place in the world and I will overrate this beer regardless. However, I think Lamplighter did a fantastic job incorporating the thyme here. Didn't know how well it would work. Often, thyme makes beer taste like liquid seasoning. Not here.

From the 16 oz. can that was canned on 03/28/18. Sampled on April 22, 2018.
It most definitely shows the appearance of a milky, murky, cloudy pale-yellow as is expected with a New England IPA. Opaque. Soft white head that fades and laces.
Bountiful aroma of floral, herbal, grapefruit, and citrus hop characters with a bready maltiness sharing the spotlight.
The body is medium to full and really smooth.
The herbal hop bitterness seems to be more forward in the taste but I still get a moderate sweet malt character and a good grapefruit and zesty hoppiness. Leads up to a lingering, floral/fruity finish. I love being in New England!

Dated 3/28/18 on the bottom on the can, little over 2 weeks old.
Pours an opaque deep dirty orange with a finger of off-white head. Comes off very herbaceous on first nose, like walking in to greenhouse. This is followed by over-ripened mango, peach, freshly cut grass, lemongrass, florals, lemon, pepper and a hint of lime. Very complex and different! Taste follows the nose, also bringing in notes of pine, parsley and grapefruit. Mouthfeel is smooth with a creamy medium body and carbonation with a low bitterness. Think of this beer as a NEIPA that someone walked in to a greenhouse with and mixed in a little bit of everything herbaceous. An awesome unique brew from Lamplighter!
After finishing it, I checked out the cans description and this is a collab with Borg Brugghus from Reykjavik, infused with acrtic thyme and dry hopped with two hops I've never had before, Styrian Wolf and Grungeist.
